Waste 2 Taste was born from a simple, yet pressing observation: an abundance of food was being discarded while countless individuals struggled with hunger. Our founders, Nick, Nived, and Aditya, noticed this disparity firsthand, witnessing daily the volume of food wasted after school lunches. Intrigued, they began to explore the issue more broadly, discovering a similar problem plaguing local restaurants. The stark contrast between this food surplus and the reality of over 40,000 food-insecure residents in Chester County ignited a passion to create a solution. With a shared commitment to their community, they established Waste 2 Taste to rescue excess food and deliver it to those in need.
Meet our founders, the individuals who are dedicated to their mission of rescuing surplus food from lcoal restaurants and redistributing it to those in need within our community, reducing food waste while addressing hunger and food insecurity. They envision a future community nourished by abundance and free from food insecurity.
My name is Nived Philip and I am currently a senior at the Downingtown STEM Academy. As a student, I am extremely knowledgable with subjects regarding math, physics, and business, pushing me to pursue a major in Civil Engineering. This knowledge not only has helped me in school, but has greatly impacted the accomplishments I have gained outside of school, inspiring me to use such skills to co-found Waste 2 Taste. I hope to implement more sustainable business practices throughout the Downingtown Area, and educate others about more ethical ways of treating food.
